TAZEWELL, VA—Tazewell County Public Schools (TCPS) is proud to announce that 100% of its schools have earned Full Accreditation from the Virginia Department of Education for the 2026–2027 school year. State Superintendent Jenna Conway officially confirmed that every school in the division meets Virginia’s highest educational standards.
“We are incredibly proud of our students, teachers, staff, and school leaders,” said Dr. Chris Stacy, Division Superintendent. “While we celebrate this achievement, our primary focus remains on continuous improvement by strengthening classroom instruction and helping every child succeed.”
The accreditation results are supported by strong student performance across the division. TCPS achieved an overall Standards of Learning pass rate of 79.22% and ranked 19th among Virginia’s 131 school divisions. TCPS has ranked among the top 20 school divisions statewide every reported year since 2017.
Full Accreditation confirms that a school meets Virginia’s requirements for academic performance and other indicators of school quality, including student growth, attendance, graduation, and preparation for life after high school.
“This is an accomplishment our entire community can celebrate,” Dr. Stacy said. “It reflects the commitment of our students, employees, families, and community partners.”
