🎉🎉🎉Congratulations to our Competition Cheer Team! 😤They earned 2nd place out of 9 teams and HIT ZERO again at Battle at Byrd! ❤️💛 Way to go, G-Girls!!

🥽👩‍🔬🥼Mrs. Rebuck’s 8th graders completed the penny lab today! This tested the cohesion of water as well allowed the students to practice going through the scientific method! ❤️💛

🐻Fat Bear Week is here!🐻 Ms. Smith's 7th graders are learning about the bears of Katmai National Park while exploring ecosystems, adaptations, survival, & the science behind getting fat for winter! Now the competition is on…Which bear will be crowned Fat Bear Champion? 🏆🐻

💉Flu clinic papers are going home with report cards on Tuesday, September 29th. The schedule for the GMS Flue Clinic is Thursday, October 22, 2026. 📄An informational sheet about scoliosis is also going home with report cards. A screening date to be announced soon! ❤💛

🤑BRING YOUR MONEY! Thursday, September 24th is the GMS PEP RALLY! ❤💛 Bring concession money to buy a snack and dirty soda! 🥤🍭🍫 Thank you, Mrs. Farmer & Communities in Schools, for sponsoring this event!

📚Mrs. Bohon's 7th grade reading students presented their "museum displays" to teachers & fellow students. Students created artifacts, participated in descriptive writing, and presented details to guests who viewed their displays in the library. This project was based on the historical fiction short story, "Suzy & Leah," where a Jewish refugee & an American girl during WWII learn it's best to never judge a book by its cover. 💛

These two are tearing up with courses in Cross Country! ❤️💛 9/16 Grayson River Run 2026 - Maddux G. (7th grade) won 🏆 with a time of 13:01 and Jake G. (7th grade) 3rd with 13:06 9/19 Walkers Run 2026 - Maddux 6th place 9:08, Jake 8th place 9:09 - both with new PRs! 😤

6th grade students enjoyed a field trip for Tour Du Park! Thank you, Tazewell SWCD, for educating our students! ❤️💛🍃

GMS will be conducting a lockdown drill today, Friday, September 18, 2026. This is only a drill.
